Portugal

A couple of weeks ago, I headed south to Portugal for a vacay with my best, Monika, and my girl Laura. Even after a few snafus with immigration and communication, we had an incredible weekend.
We started out in Faro, which has a beautiful harbor, mild weather, and plenty of British tourists. Laura and I had lunch at a restaurant that looked like a dilapidated Garden of Eden.

After lunch, we strolled around town, and ended up enjoying coffee at a rooftop bar. Interestingly enough, most of the buildings in Faro looked like the ones below- a bit rough, but truly special.

The next day, we took a train up the North coast. We were spat out at the end of world.

It seemed as almost every building in Grandola was abandoned. The general vibe was post-apocalyptic. Dogs fighting in the streets. Children running wild throwing water balloons at us. Not the most hospitable place for three American girls. And not, as our lovely hosts described it, relaxing.

Wait! Wait! The story isn't over...more to come!
